Cost of marriage license: $40

To obtain a marriage license, the parties must complete the Intentions of Marriage form. This form is available at the Town Office or you can download the form using this link: https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/public-health-systems/data-research/vital-records/documents/pdf-files/VS2-A-Marriage-Intentions-fillable.pdf

The Intentions of Marriage form must be completed in black ink only and must be signed in front of a notary or the Town Clerk. Both parties must be present to sign and you will need to bring photo identification with you at the time of signing.

If this is not your first marriage, you will need to provide a certified copy of your divorce decree. If you are a widow or widower, you will need to provide a certified death certificate.
